About Us
Who We Are
The Montessori Alliance of West Virginia was founded in 2023 by Melissa Menon (President), Caitlin Wakefield (Treasurer) and Spencer Martel (Secretary) to connect Montessori schools, guides and communities across the state. Between the three of them they have 32 years of Montessori experience in the classroom, in administration, as instructional guides and advisors. They strive to provide Montessori resources for WV schools and make connections across the state.

Our mission is to promote, support and advocate for authentic Montessori education in West Virginia.
We share a vision of offering equitable and authentic Montessori education and support to parents, caregivers and educators in home, private and public settings and working collaboratively to provide excellent educational opportunities for West Virginians.
